Linen Wrap
What is a linen wrap hardcover?
Linen wrap hardcovers are classic and elegant, featuring a cover of book cloth wrapped around heavy book board. The cover (or 'case') is later attached to the bound book pages by using endpapers.
We carry over 25 different linen colors, and endpapers in black, white, natural and gray. You have the option to decorate the linen wrap cover with foil stamps and inset images.

What types of linen do you offer?
We offer two types of book cloth, uncoated VERONA® and coated ALLURE®.
Uncoated linen is our most popular hardcover material as it offers a natural, textured feel. It foil stamps well, but very large or intricate foil designs will retain more detail on a coated material.
Coated linen is a poly-cotton blend that features an aqueous acrylic coating. This type of book cloth is ideal for detailed foil stamping, is very durable, and wipes clean easily.
What linen type should I choose?
We offer both coated and uncoated linen in a variety of colors. You can choose which color and material best suits your project, and we can offer guidance if you have questions after placing your order.
Uncoated linen is a customer favorite with a cloth-like feel and a traditional look. It accepts foil stamping well, but foil designs with fine detail may require that you use coated linen.
Coated linen is durable and easy to keep clean. It can be foil stamped with more intricate designs.
Can I print and/or foil stamp on linen?
Uncoated linen can be foil stamped, but we cannot print on this material. If you want to include text or art on the cover of your uncoated linen book, you will need to use foil stamps or an inset image.
We can print directly onto coated linen, and it can be foil stamped as well. For large or complex foil stamps with a lot of fine detail, we will sometimes require that you select a coated linen. When printing on coated linen, we usually advise that you avoid full bleed designs or large areas of solid color. There is no laminate to protect the print, and it will show wear at the edges and creases with regular use.

Do you offer leather cover materials?
We do not work with natural leather, as the stiffness and irregularity of the material can pose challenges for our equipment.
Many synthetic book cloth materials in faux leather and faux suede finishes have a look and feel similar to leather without the production drawbacks.
Contact us if you are interested in a leather-like cover material.
Can I supply my own cover material?
Generally, we prefer to use our stock book cloth as we know it performs well with our equipment and processes. If you are interested in something beyond what we carry, we may be able to order custom colors or materials at additional cost.
If you want to supply your own book cloth, contact us and we will evaluate whether the material is compatible with our equipment and production methods. There may be added cost for setup or testing.
Uncoated vs. coated linen
Uncoated linen has a cloth-like feel and appearance. Many customers like it because of its traditional and high end look. Note that uncoated linen will show dust and dirt more readily than a coated material. Uncoated linen foil stamps well, but complex or large stamps with fine details may only work on coated material.
Coated Linen is a poly-cotton blend with an aqueous acrylic coating. It has a slight sheen and a smoother surface compared to uncoated book cloth. Coated linen is ideal for detailed foil stamping, is very durable, and wipes clean easily.
