The maximum page count is dependent on what type of book you are ordering:

Printed softcovers & classic softcovers

• Maximum page count - 700

Linen wrap, printed wrap & printed linen wrap hardcovers

• Maximum page count - 700

Saddle stitch booklets

• Maximum page count = 80
• Note: Page counts must be in multiples of 4

The maximum page dimensions for your contents depend on the type of book you are ordering:

• For printed softcovers & classic softcovers: maximum size: 12"W x 12"H
• For linen wrap hardcovers: maximum size: 14"W x 12"H
• For printed wrap & printed linen wrap hardcovers: maximum size: 13"W x 11"H
• For saddle stitch booklets: maximum size: 9"W x 12"H

The number of pages your book will have is entirely up to you.

However, please keep in mind that the total page count must be an even number. Please review the page count limitations and constraints provided below:

Our processes, software, and manufacturing equipment are optimized for work in increments of 1/4 inch (0.25").

If your project has been designed using metric dimensions or to some other specification, we will ask that you reformat to the nearest 0.25" increment.

We may accept non-standard dimensions on a case-by-case basis, please contact us if you have any questions.

We require a minimum page count of 60 pages for spine text.

• A 60-page book will have a fairly narrow spine, so even though you can include spine text in your design, keep in mind it will be very small. Fonts should be simple and legible.
• This applies to both printing and foil stamping, for any softcover or hardcover.

Saddle stitch booklets do not have spines and cannot have a spine print.

One sheet of paper has two pages, so the page count will always be an even number.

• For example: If you have a 100-page book, you would have 50 sheets of paper.

When entering your page count in our order form, price calculator, or cover calculator, please use the page count (not the sheet count).

When laying out your book, keep in mind that even page numbers are on the left, and odd page numbers are on the right.

The first page of your book will always be on the right side, and the last page will be on the left side.

You should not include:

• The outside or inside cover when determining the page count of a softcover book or saddle stitch booklet.
• The endpapers when determining the page count of a hardcover book.

Saddle stitch booklets must have a page count that is divisible by 4.

Your contents always have an even number of pages because each sheet of paper has two sides. For instance, a 100-page book has 50 sheets of paper. Keep in mind that even page numbers are on the left, while odd page numbers are on the right when formatting your book.

Therefore, your contents will start on the right side of the first spread. The cover and endpapers (for hardcover books) are not included in the page count.

Orders of 500 books or fewer are printed using digital presses and bound with PUR adhesive. These books can have any even-numbered page count.

For larger quantity orders, offset presses and signature-sewn bindings are used, and the page count must be divisible by 8 or 16. We will confirm the required page count when you place your order.

It is difficult to make a book with fewer pages than our posted minimums of 20 pages for softcover books and 30 pages for hardcover books.

This is related to the limitations of our equipment. For books with very low page counts, the saddle stitch booklet format is a great option.

We may be able to produce books with page counts higher than the posted 700-page maximum, but this will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Thinner paper stock must be used for the book block to fit in our binding equipment.

A page is considered color if any color is used apart from black (K).

This includes colors in images, vector graphics, and text.

Keep in mind that text or objects that appear black may actually be RGB or CMYK 'rich black', which is counted as color.

The number of color pages in your book affects its price.

When filling out our price calculator and order form, please enter the number of color pages to the best of your knowledge.

Don't worry if you're not certain, we will use software to determine the accurate count and adjust the invoice accordingly.
